The Effect of Mindfulness Exercises on Confrontation Naming of Adults with Aphasia (Virtual Study via Zoom)

Study Description:
Research shows that aphasia affects the naming skills of people and there is limited research regarding mindfulness exercises on the naming skills of those with aphasia. This investigation aims to determine the effect of mindfulness exercises on naming in adults with aphasia. This study will occur online via Zoom.

Inclusion / Exclusion Criteria:
Inclusion: -Live in Rhode Island, Florida, or New Mexico -30-75 years old -Have a history of a stroke within the last 10 years -Received an aphasia diagnosis by a speech-language pathologist -Access to Internet, Wifi, and Zoom Exclusion: -Other neurocognitive disorders, dementia, blindness, profound hearing loss, or Wernicke’s or global aphasia diagnosis

Duration of Study:
This study will include 15 sessions over 4 weeks. Each session will be 10-30 minutes. The total study time will be about 5 hours total over 4 weeks.
